Bob Marley’s grandson, YG Marley joins Billboard Hot 100 charts with his hit single titled Praise Jah, which is currently a favorite of many.
The breakout hit “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” has climbed to a new peak on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track made its way to No. 34 this week, a step up from 39 just a week ago, as the catchy song gain momentum. Jamaica Weekly understands, the track is currently in its fifth week on the chart after entering at No. 74 and is currently the only reggae song in the mix.
YG Marley captured the attention of reggae music lovers worldwide, Jamaican veteran Bounty Killer, praised the young Marley in a post on Instagram. In his message, Bounty urged other artists in reggae/dancehall to put out better quality music that appeals to a global audience and says YG Marley is an example to that. The dancehall legend is adamant that Jamaica has the “most important music.”
YG Marley confirmed last month that “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” has since surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify and continues to go up. The track also has over 23 million views on YouTube.
Joshua Marley, more popularly known as YG Marley, is son to celebrity couple Rohan Marley and Lauryn Hill.
Jamaica Weekly understands that the young Marley is currently working on his debut album and has performed along side his mother, Ms. Lauryn Hill, on a few of her tour dates in recent months.
