The internet has been set a blaze with news of Vybz Kartel being free of his previous Murder conviction which has had the deejay behind bars since 2011. The Privy Council has ruled that his trial was flawed.
Incarcerated Dancehall Hero, Vybz Kartel should be in high spirits as the Privy Council has swing their decision in his favor. The convictions of Vybz Kartel and his co-accused are invalid and it is now up to the Jamaica’s highest order, the court of Appeals to decide is there will be a re-trial of the case should be thrown out.
Vybz Kartel is no longer a murder convict and should no longer he held behind bars against his will or for anything that was presented in his previous miss trial. The ‘Romping Shop’ deejay is temporarily a free man.
Given that the Privy Council, was adamant in their ruling that Kartl’s trial was so tainted, the conviction should be thrown out and no there should be no re-trial.
Jamaica’s Court of Appeal is currently under the scope as they will have the last say in the ongoing appeal as to weather the trial should conclude to a Not Guilty Verdict or make way for a new fair trial.
Even though the Jamaican Court of appeal could favor a retrial, the higher decision has made it clear that leaning towards a not guilty verdict should be their call.
