Sean Paul’s Album The Trinity
The Trinity album has reached the sales and streaming equivalent of 2,000,000 units sold the states on Thursday (March 28). This marks another great achievement for the 18-track album that had initially aquired platinum status just five months after its release back in September 2005. It was Paul’s second consecutive platinum-selling album, following Dutty Rock, which is currently certified 3X Platinum in the US, way to Sean Paul!
The Trinity Album was recorded and produced in Jamaica with some of the island’s top shelf producers, including Donovan “Don Corleon” Bennett, Rohan “Jah Snowcone” Fuller, Steven “Lenky” Marsden, Craig “Leftside” Parks, and Supa Dups.
Featured on The Trinity Project was Wayne Marshall, Nina Sky, Tami Chynn, Looga Man, and Kid Kurup. However, a special expanded edition was later released internationally, which saw Sean Paul working with other tallents such as Carlos Santana, Joss Stone, and Rhianna (on Break it Off).
One of the hottest songs at that time was also featured on the Album, We Be Burnin‘, which peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100 and certified platinum, and Give It Up To Me, which brought forth a Keyshia Cole feature that reached No. 3 on the Hot 100 and was later certified Gold.
Paul has eight other Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Best Male Rap Solo Performance for Get Busy, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Cheap Thrills, a collab with Australian singer Sia.
His last two albums, the Grammy-nominated Live N Livin and Scorcha, peaked at No. 9 and No. 6 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, respectively.
Just recently the deejay teamed up with Kabaka Pyramid and J Morgan on a new collaborated remix titled Energy, which is currently making waves.
