Gyptian Scores Double Platinum in The UK with ‘Hold Yuh’


Reggae Dancehall artist Gyptian has scored double platinum with his 2010 hit single titled ‘Hold You.’

Gyptian‘s Hold Yuh is currently certified 2X Platinum in the United Kingdom, according to the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), the song was issued the BRIT Certified Multi-Platinum (2X) award on Friday (April 19) after it surpassed 1,200,000 units sold in the UK as measured by The Official Charts Company.

Hold You‘ is the original title song of his third studio album which was released by Jamaican music company, VP Records. Jamaica Weekly understands that the track had reached Platinum status back in may 2018 with (600,000 units) 8 years after its debut. Following another 6 years which doubled the figure.

VP Records is quite  pleased about the song’s latest milestone.

Gyptian Scores Double Platinum in The UK with Hold Yuh

Hold Yuh was produced by Ricky Blaze, A song that has been celebrated by its listeners. Following its debut,  A remix featuring rapper Nicki Minaj was done, which propelled the song to new audience that also loved it.

The success of the track also earned Gyptian the MOBO Award for Best Reggae Artist back in 2010.

The official music video currently has over 132 million views on YouTube, while the song has over 207 million plays on Spotify.
