Africa must be proud of their production, Burna Boy, who continues to pioneer the culture and music mainstream.
Burna Boy, the Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, has reach yet another milestone with his celebrated album, “African Giant.” The 19-track project, which features collaborations with Jamaican artists Damian Marley and Serani, has been certified platinum in France by SNEP (Syndicat National de l’Édition Phonographique), the country’s official certification agency.
Damian is featured on the track ‘Different‘ along with Angélique Kidjo, while Serani lends his vocals to ‘Secret‘ with Jeremih.
Five years after its initial release, “African Giant” continues to inspire audiences worldwide, surpassing the coveted 100,000-unit sales threshold and solidifying Burna Boy’s status as a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
A few tracks on the album has done pretty well over the years, including “On the Low“, which won Viewers’ Choice at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, “Killin Dem“, which won Song of the Year at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards Festival, among other awards; and “Anybody“, which Burna performed on the big show Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Beyond its commercial success, the platinum certification of “African Giant” symbolizes a cultural watershed moment, underscoring the album’s profound impact on shaping the global perception of African musical artistry.
