Buju Banton is back on United States soil, following his deportation back in 2018.
DJ Khaled, in an Instagram live update earlier today, revealed that Buju was in Miami beside him at his home in Miami for the first time since he was sent to prison 15 years ago.
An excited DJ Khaled told his fans thathis brother is back,’
“This is legendary! I haven’t seen my brother and I don’t think you have seen my brother and it’s been about 15 years since you have seen him in Miami or what we call the United States.
Buju also updated his fans via his official Instagram where he posted a few photos of himself and DJ Khaled having a conversation.
“Long was the road Many were the travels But the journey of a 1000 miles begin with a single step Miami si mi ya” Buju captioned the post
Mark Myrie, who is more popularly known as Buju Banton picked up by police in Florida back in 2009 on cocaine charges. The reggae faced trial and was sentenced about 11 years in prison. He was then released in 2018 and was deported to Jamaica.
Upon his return the Reggae Legend received a warm welcome back home, despite his legal battles he was still a hero in the eyes of many in the entertainment industry.
Jamaica Weekly understands that his return to the states in on a Working Visa and not a visitors visa.
Buju seems happy to be back in the states, where he can continue that aspect of his music al journey.
“This is Buju Banton, I want to say nuff love to you all, all my fans out there in all the states in the United States of America, Gargamel is back.” he said in the live video with Khaled.
